Eminem Goes Home With Special Guests

Eminem gave 42,000 fans a plethora of treats last night at Comerica Park, including his mentor, his pupil, as well as Drake.

Last night, Eminem kicked off his hometown component of he and Jay-Z’s Home & Home Tour. With stops in New York’s Yankee Stadium next week, the “Renegade” duo performed at Detroit’s Comerica Park last night. The hometown hero and pride of Eight Mile Road, Eminem gave 42,000 a 100-plus minute show, spanning through an estimated 33 songs, Billboard.com reported.

With Alchemist on the turntables and D12’s Mr. Porter assisting Em’s stage duties, the emcee and Shady Records head invited a number of esteemed guests to the stage. Em’s onetime pupil, 50 Cent, took the stage to assist on “Patiently Waiting,” while the G-Unit honcho and Lloyd Banks remained on stage to perform several of their hits, including “In Da Club.” Em also brought out Drake for their portions of 2009 power-collaboration, “Forever.” According to Billboard however, no guest got a bigger crowd reaction that Em’s mentor, Dr. Dre, who took the stage to perform 1992’s “Nuthin’ But A G Thang” and 1999’s “Still Dre.” Eminem provided vocals for both songs’ Snoop Dogg verses. Detroit’s Trick-Trick also made an appearance.

Jay-Z’s set reportedly included longtime pupil Memphis Bleek, as well as an apperance from Young Jeezy. As a duo, both Jay-Z and Eminem performed their first collaboration, 2001’s “Renegade.”
